Cemetery History
Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Congregation in the city of Peru paid $125.00 for five acres in Bureau County for St. Joseph’s Cemetery (on the south side of Route 6 in Spring Valley). Land has been added and Bob Rowe, the capable caretaker, estimates there are over 2500 people buried there today.
